‘Forced To Consume Liquid’: Arnab Goswami In Bail Plea

Republic Television editor-in-chief Arnab Goswami has accused the Mumbai Police of torture in his bail plea.

In his bail plea, Republic TV Editor-in-Chief Arnab Goswami has made some terrible revelations as how he was pushed by the cops during his detention. According to Bar and Bench, a website that covers legal news, Arnab Goswami claimed in his petition that throughout the course of arrest a senior police officer hit him with a heavy boot, He also claimed that he suffered a six-inch-deep gash on his left hand and suffered serious injury to his spinal cord

In this regard, Arnab Goswami’s habeas corpus application says:

“During the course of his arrest and while being transferred to Alibaug in a police van and in the custody of the police, the Petitioner suffered a 6-inch-deep gash on his left hand, a serious injury to his spinal cord, was hit by a heavy uniform police officer’s boot, was not allowed to wear shoes throughout, suffered vein injuries and was not even given access to drinking water. Additionally, the Petitioner was also forced to consume certain liquid by the police officers guarding him and choked as a result thereof.”
