Twitter testing new feature ‘Fleets’ in India, What is Fleets?

Twitter on Tuesday announced that it is testing a new feature in India called ‘Fleets’, the platform’s own version of stories that disappear after 24 hours.

Old Wine in New Bottle? The perfect phrase to use right now.  After Facebook, what’s app, and Instagram, Twitter is the latest to add story feature called “fleets”. After Twitter announced the rollout of the new feature, netizens were quick to compare it to Snapchat and Instagram stories.

What is Fleets?

Tweeter is testing a new feature called Fleets, it is a self-disappearing tweet similar to Instagram Stories that will vanish in 24 hours and will not have retweets, likes or public comments.

Explaining the new feature, the popular micro-blogging site said they’re on the testing phase and asked for feedback from its loyal users.

Some of Twitter’s India users said there was no need for the story-like option on the platform Disappointed that the company has failed to recognise the most popular demand — an edit button — users said it’s quite frustrating to be handed something irrelevant.
