WHO Releases Guidelines On Mask Use Against COVID-19

Face Masks alone will not protect people from coronavirus says WHO chief, urging additional protective measures as well.

Today WHO is published updated guidance on the use of masks for control of COVID-19 and When and how to use masks. The new guidance is based on evolving evidence and provides updates on, face with medical mask who should wear a mask, face with medical mask when a mask should be worn face with medical mask what a mask should be made of. The updated guidance also contains new information on the composition of fabric masks.

In its new guidelines, the WHO has said, “Masks can be used either for protection of healthy persons (worn to protect oneself when in contact with an infected individual) or for source control (worn by an infected individual to prevent onward transmission).”
